The Microreserve of the Natural Science Museum Complex is a unique place in Constanta. Inaugurated in 1985, the microreserve covers an area of approximately 6 ha of which 2 ha of water surface vegetation is specified. This objective was created in order to offer visitors a more complete picture of the natural area of Dobrogea.
The heritage of the museum includes aquatic fauna (pelicans, swans, ducks and wild geese), terrestrial avifauna (peacocks and pheasants) and mammals (mouflon, fallow deer and deer) that are found in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and Negureni Reserve. Most of these specimens are rare monuments and a more reduced freedom state representation.

The "residents" of the microreserve are receiving "accommodation" areas according to European standards, and during the cold season are hosted in heated rooms. The Micro Delta is a comprehensive process of modernization and diversification of species it shelters.
Besides the exhibition destination, the microreserve is also a great place for leisure in an education. Also, volunteer programs launched by the institution, the animal lovers can participate in supervised feeding of animals in the Microreserve.  Also within the Microreserve was recently initiated a center for hosting made by individuals, especially for winter.
