The seaside is one of the most spectacular regions of our country, offering stunning scenery. With an overall length of 245 kilometers, the romanian coast extends north from the border with Ukraine to the south, at the border with Bulgaria, delimiting the eastern Dobrogea area from the Black Sea waters. In more than half of its extent (163 km) starting from the north to the area near Navodari, the romanian coast is dominated by Danube Delta and coastal lakes. Starting from the Cape Midia (Navodari) to Vama Veche (the border with Bulgaria), sandy beaches form the romanian seaside. This coastline area stretches over a distance of 82 kilometers and is the most frequented area by tourists.
Temperate climate, low salinity water and east orientation beaches creates excellent conditions for spending the summer holidays on the Romanian seaside. Romanian seaside beaches are covered with fine sand and have an overall width of 150-200 meters. There is still a noticeable difference between the north coast beaches (Navodari, Mamaia, Constanta) and southern beaches. The north are wider and keep a uniform shoreline, while the southern coastline have many narrow sectors, are furrowed by gulfs and high cliffs. On the romanian seaside sun shines approximately 2,500 hours per year, aproximately the same lenght like the beaches of Croatia and very similar to the Mediterranean coast.

Tourists have over 250,000 beds in hotels, villas and pensions in the following 12 seaside resorts: Navodari, Mamaia, Eforie North Eforie South Techirghiol Costinesti, Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn, Mangalia, adding 2 Mai and Vama Veche, but only on unofficial basis. On thr coastline there are plenty of opportunities for fun and entertainment that covers all the preferences and needs of tourists who spend their vacation here. In recent years, along the coast have developed numerous restaurants and terraces on the beach or close to this, offering the tourists the opportunity to relax in an atmosphere of joyful holiday and delight with the romanian, international cuisine. Also, the romanian seaside offers the possibility to practice all water sports, each resort featuring modern recreation. Seaside leisure options are complemented by tennis courts, soccer and golf, amusement parks and entertainment centers which are very common in thr resorts. The possibilities for fun are completed by the recent construction in Mamaia resort : Aqua Magic and the gondola.
